E-commerce channel has shown strong growth in sales share of fast moving consumer goods(FMCG).However,with the advent of the big data era,the rapid development of technology and e-commerce,the diverse preferences and the variety of shopping choices for consumers,the online environment of enterprises has become extremely complicated.In order to attract customers and expand sales,enterprises will frequently carry out discounts and promotions which often lead to rapid changes in demand.How to capture the market demand accurately and control inventory reasonably in a complex e-commerce environment is the main problem faced by e-commerce companies currently.In order to solve the above problems,this paper takes FMCG of H company as the research object,focuses on the characteristics,demand forecasting and inventory control strategies of FMCG.By investigating the current demand forecasting and inventory situation,the main problems of H company are summarized:the demand forecast is inaccurate,the order interval is too long and the inventory level is high.For these specific problems,this paper selects a synthesized demand forecasting model taking time series analysis and other demand-affected factors into account,multi-cycle inventory control model as solution.The two models selected in this paper have been testified via a set of actual FMCG data from H company.The empirical analysis results show that the selected models are effective and excellent in solving the actual problems of H company.Finally,this paper puts forward management suggestions for online demand forecast:ing and inventory management of FMCG companies.
