Application Of Folk Embroidery In Modern Women’s Costume Design

Embroidery is a traditional Chinese arts and crafts.It is a combination of traditional folk art,folk knowledge and traditional handicraft skills.It has a high ornamental value,practical value and collection value.In the past three thousand years,after the inheritance and continuous innovation of the past generations of folk entertainers,they gradually formed their own unique style and complete system.The folk embroideries include Hubei’s “Hong An Embroidery” and “Yangxinbutie”,Shanxi’s “Gaoping Embroidery”,Shaanxi’s “Chengcheng Embroidery” and “West Qin Embroidery”,and Sichuan’s “Maliu Embroidery”.Among them,in 2008 the State Council included Red Ann’s embroidery in the "National Intangible Cultural Heritage List." Nowadays,intangible cultural heritage has also been increasingly valued by people of all countries in the world.It has gradually become the focus of public attention and the focus of scientific research.Embroidered of Hong An lived art style with local characteristics and vitality is different from the contemporary popular aesthetic mood.However,due to the single product category of Hong An’s embroidery,Embroidered of Hong An life disappears silently in the fast-paced modern life.This highlights the importance of recording and inheritance.This article mainly adopts the field investigation method,takes Hongan County in Hubei Province as an investigation point,takes the embroidered living elements of Hongan as the main research object,conducts on-the-spot investigation and analysis,visits the successors of Hongan embroidery,and collects relevant materials.The author discusses the historical origin,unique style and cultural connotation of Hong An’s embroidery work,and thoroughly analyzes the characteristics of pattern aesthetics,color matching and manual craftsmanship in the elements of Hong An’s embroidery.By analyzing the innovative laws of domestic and foreign embroidery applied in modern women’s clothing,and combining the unique artistic features of Hong An’s embroidery,the author finds an innovative method that is suitable for Hong An’s embroidery to live in modern women’s clothing.Based on analysis and understanding,these innovative methods are applied in modern women’s clothing design through experiments.Finally,in combination with inspiration,these innovative methods are applied to a series of modern women’s designs that embody the theme of Hong An embroidery and live embroidery.The author hopes that the research on this topic can increase the attention of modern people to intangible cultural heritage,and at the same time provide useful reference value for the application of Chinese folk embroidery skills in fashion design.
