With the increasing awareness of environmental protection, more and more attention has been paid to the environmental protection industry and trade in environmental goods.Countries have been continuing to negotiate agreements on environmental goods, striving for the triple win in trade, environment and development.Guided by the development ideas of innovation, openness and green,China has classified environmental industry as one of strategic emerging industries and increased investment in environmental protection industry in order to promote the development of environmental products trade. However,at present, the competitive advantage of China’s environmental goods is not obvious, the structure of export commodities is unbalanced, and the export market is relatively unitary. Therefore,it is necessary to break down the factors that affect the export of China’s environmental goods,so as to formulate a more targeted strategy to promote the export of China’s environmental goods, and help China realize the dream of the powerful country of environmental goods trade at an early date. This dissertation introduces the current mainstream definition and classification of environmental goods, and chooses the definition of environmental products in the environmental products list drawn up by APEC in 2012.Secondly,it analyzes the current situation of the world and China’s export trade of environmental goods from 2002 to 2016,and measures and evaluates the competitiveness of China’s export of environmental goods. The results show that the export commodity structure of China’s environmental goods is unbalanced, the export market is unitary, the competitiveness of different environmental goods is obviously different, and only a few products have competitive advantage.Thirdly,by dividing the period 2002-2016 into three periods,2002-2006,2007-2011 and 2012-2016,the constant market share model was used to break down the factors that caused the changes in China’s environmental goods exports at different stages. The study shows that, overall, the competitive effect is the main influencing factor to promote the export of environmental goods in China, and the structural and cross-cutting effects are the influencing factors to hinder the export of environmental goods in China. Finally, based on the analysis results, some relevant policy suggestions are formulated for the development of China’s export trade of environmental goods.
