A Research Of The Export Competitiveness Of China's Environmental Goods And Its Influencing Factors

In recent years,with the continuous development of economical globalization,the global environmental pollution is becoming increasingly serious.As a result,global environmental issue has become an urgent project for the international community's joint response.While the trade of environmental goods will help slow down global environmental problems,as well as promoting global green economic growth.With trade and environmental issues continue to be strengthened on the multilateral trade agreements,the research on trade of environmental goods has become the focus of attention at this stage theorists.The trade of environmental goods has become a new spot of international trade,has also become a new growth point of China's trade.China exports a large amount of the current environmental goods,China is the world's largest trading environmental goods country,Chinese imports and exports of environmental goods all ranking the first in the world.However,compared with the developed countries,the development of China's trade on environmental goods is very late,it shows significant trade competitive disadvantage.Generally Chinese environmental goods show poor export competitiveness,the renewable energy products account for a large proportion in China's total exports of the environmental goods,and most of these products are resource-intensive products,others such as environmental monitoring and control equipment and other technology-intensive environmental goods account a very small proportion of the total environmental goods exports.The reasons why the export competitiveness of Chinese environmental goods is very weak are manifold.Therefore,identify these factors and determine their impact on Chinese exports of environmental goods is very crucial to improve China's environmental goods export competitiveness.This study is based on the research of APEC list,the APEC environmental goods list includes 54 tariff lines,we classify the list with more detailed environmental goods,assess Chinese environmental goods export competitiveness on the base of the APEC list.We find that based on the APEC list,Chinese environmental goods has both advantage and disadvantage,but the disadvantage is more obvious.Overall,China has strong export competitiveness on resource-intensive environmental goods,such as environmental preferable goods and the renewable energy products.But the environmental monitoring and analysis equipment,air pollution control equipment,waste treatment equipment,sewage treatment equipment accounted for 38 tariff lines of the APEC list,mostly are capital and technology-intensive products,China shows the lack of export competitiveness in these products clearly.Also we find the gross domestic product,foreign direct investment,export tax,scientific and technical assistance projects,environmental performance indicators have an important impact on the export competitiveness of Chinese environmental goods.Finally,we put forward some policy suggestions to the government and the enterprises based on our empirical analysis.
