Inner Mongolia is located in the arid and semi-arid area,the overall water resources are short,and the regional distribution and time distribution are significantly uneven.In recent years,with the rapid development of industrialization,modernization and urbanization,the rapid growth of urban water demand has exacerbated the problem of water resource shortage,and caused serious water resource problems such as surface river cut-off,lake drying up,and groundwater level drop,which in turn seriously restricted the development of urbanization.Guided by the theory of urbanization comprehensive development and water resources system,this paper analyzes the urbanization development level and water resources system of Inner Mongolia qualitatively and quantitatively,establishes the evaluation index system of the two systems,and determines the weight of each index by using the objective combination weight method.On this basis,it analyzes the Urbanization development level and water of Inner Mongolia by using the coordination degree model of composite system At the same time,the correlationbetween the coordination degree and time between the two systems is fitted.The results show that:(1)from 2000 to 2018,the coupling degree of urbanization development level and water resources system in Inner Mongolia experienced an excessive stage from "low level stage-antagonistic stage-running in stage",and the coordination degree presented a development process of "moderate maladjustment-mild maladjustment-near maladjustment-reluctant coordination-primary coordination".(2)In 2018,12 alliance city coupling stages are in the antagonistic stage.In 2018,the coordination degree of each alliance city presents the following aspects: East Mongolia region(primary coordination)> West Mongolia region(mild imbalance)> central Mongolia region(severe imbalance).(3)From 2019 to 2022,the coordination degree has gone through the stage of "forced coordination-near maladjustment-mild maladjustment ",which indicates that the contradiction between urbanization development level and water resources system in Inner Mongolia will become more and more serious in the next few years.
