Research On The Impact Of Marine Industry Cluster On Regional Economic Growth

In the era of marine economic development,the contribution of the marine economy to the national economy has become increasingly prominent.China has also issued many policies to promote the development of the marine economy and marine industry in order to give full play to its economic leading role.With the rapid development of the marine industry in coastal areas,the marine industry has shown an obvious trend of aggregation like other industries.Industrial agglomeration is an important spatial feature of industrial development,which can produce agglomeration effects and affect economic growth.Whether the relationship between traditional industrial agglomeration and economic growth is applicable to marine industrial agglomeration is worthy of in-depth study.At the same time,according to the first law of geography,neighboring things are related.In today's prosperous development of information and transportation,the interaction between neighboring areas has gradually been paid attention by scholars,while traditional measurement methods ignore the spatial effect in economic development,which is easy to cause the measurement results to deviate from the actual situation.Therefore,starting from a spatial perspective,an in-depth study of the impact of marine industrial agglomeration on regional economic growth will help provide a direction for the future development of marine industrial agglomeration.This paper takes 11 coastal provinces in China as the research object,uses the location entropy to measure the marine industry agglomeration level of coastal provinces from 2000 to 2016,and uses the spatial econometric model to explore the impact of marine industry agglomeration on regional economic growth from a spatial perspective.The empirical research conclusions are as follows:(1)The marine industry has obvious agglomeration characteristics,and the level of agglomeration is uneven in space,but overall,the agglomeration level of the marine industry shows an upward trend.(2)The regional economic development of coastal provinces in China has a significantly positive spatial autocorrelation relationship,that is,regional economic development will promote economic growth in neighboring regions.(3)Agglomeration of marine industries can promote economic growth,and there is a space spillover effect.Specifically,the comprehensive effect of marine industrial agglomeration on regional economic growth is 0.068017,of which the direct effect is 0.063870 and the indirect effect is 0.004147.(4)In addition to the agglomeration of marine industries,human capital,physical capital,the degree of opening up,and R&D investment will also promote regional economic growth,and the positive space spillover effect is significant.Government intervention may be due to improper intervention,which is not conducive to promoting regional economic growth.
