An Empirical Study On The Impact Of The Marine Industrial Agglomeration Of Fujian Province On Economic Growth

In the era of marine economy development, firmly seizing the opportunity of booming marine economic and playing the role of the engine of economic growth of marine industry, is the key to upgrading industrial structure and optimizing industrial layout. As an effective form of industrial organization, the effect of industrial agglomeration on economic growth can not be ignored. Marshall, Jacobs, Krugman and some other economists reach consensus that through technology spillover, scale economy, labor sharing and industry associations, industrial agglomeration effectively promotes the regional economic growth. Therefore, in order to research the effect of the marine industry’s agglomeration in Fujian Province on the economic growth, this paper focuses the degree of marine industrial concentration. Based on previous studies, the article evaluates degree of marine industry’s agglomeration from2001to2010., and the results shows that the effect of industrial agglomeration in marine primary and tertiary industry have been evident; the degree of marine secondary industry in industrial agglomeration has not reached the national average, but the size of its agglomeration is in a rising trend year by year, and the scale of marine industry’s overall agglomeration has expanded significantly.Then this paper introduces the degree of industrial agglomeration into economic growth model, researching the contribution of marine industry cluster in Fujian Province to the economic growth and analyzing the path graph of marine industry agglomeration affecting economic growth. The conclusion shows that the effect of oceanic industrial agglomeration in Fujian Province on economic growth is remarkable, the elastic coefficient of oceanic industrial agglomeration is up to0.285, and the annual contribution rate of oceanic industrial agglomeration to economic growth is1.09%during2007and2010. Through the urbanization effect, localization effect and scale economy, the progress in oceanic industrial concentration will effectively promote local economic development. Despite the effect of agglomeration of marine industry in Fujian Province is significant, Compared with Shandong and Guangdong, the marine industry agglomeration still faces many challenges. Consequently in order to speed up the marine industry agglomeration, the article insists that Fujian Province focuses on strengthening the oceanic infrastructure construction, constantly improve the public service system of the ocean, accelerate the integration of Elements of marine production, and finally enhance the marine industry scale and level.
