The service-oriented transformation of investment, design, construction and operation management of construction enterprises is particularly urgent in the service economy society.Service innovation is the key to this transformation. The role of BIM technology in the entire life cycle of construction projects is widely known. There seems to be a certain relationship between the two.At present, the research on BIM application capability and service innovation performance of construction enterprises is still shallow.Does BIM application capability affect service innovation performance? Does organizational learning,as an essential skill of the enterprise, play a role in the relationship between BIM application capability and service innovation performance?Based on the above research background and problems, this paper sets up the theoretical model of BIM application ability(independent variable),organizational learning(mediator variable)and service innovation performance(dependent variable)of construction enterprises, and then introduces 13 research hypotheses of the relationship between the three.Questionnaires were used for data collection, and expert interviews and pre-tests were used to revise the questionnaires.A total of 358 formal questionnaires were collected. What's more, the sample population is the middle and senior management personnel of the construction industry enterprises that have applied BIM technology in enterprises. After descriptive statistical analysis, reliability and validity testing of those data, this paper uses structural equation modeling and Bootstrap mediation effect test method to test 13 hypotheses. The research found that:(1)BIM application capability of construction enterprises has a significant positive impact on service innovation performance, and BIM application capability has significant positive impact effects on service innovation financial performance, service innovation customer performance, and service innovation internal performance.(2)Organizational learning plays a partial mediation effect in the relationship between BIM application capability and service innovation performance of construction enterprises, and it also plays a partial mediation effect in the relationship between BIM application capabilityand service innovation financial performance, service innovation customer performance, while organizational learning has a complete mediating effect on the relationship between BIM application capability and service innovation internal performance,it shows that the influence of the former on the latter is completely dependent on organizational learning. The innovations of this paper are mainly as follows:(1)Incorporating the characteristics of construction enterprises into the theoretical framework of service innovation performance, expanding the research perspective of BIM application capabilities, and gradually diversifying its single research field.(2)Constructing a direct connection between BIM application capability and service innovation performance, revealing the mediating effect of organizational learning between the two. This paper makes a theoretical foundation for the service innovation development of construction enterprises, and has certain practical implications:(1)Construction enterprises should pay attention to the cultivation of BIM application ability, and investigate the shortage of BIM application ability from four aspects, and then “To suit the remedy to the case”.(2)Construction enterprises should pay attention to the intermediary role of organizational learning in the relationship between BIM application capability and service innovation performance.
