The sound of Orthoptera insects has high interspecificality It is an significant part of katydids physical communication system.It plays a role in choosing a spouse,avoiding natural enemies,and attracting prey.With the rapid development of insect acoustics,species identification based on song characteristics is a convenient method in systematic taxonomy.In this paper,nine male katydids characteristics of 6 genera of 2 subfamilies in northern Xinjiang were studied.The composition of 27 species of katydid fauna in 5 subfamilies of Xinjiang was analyzed.Results are as follows.The following conclusions are drawn:1)According to the nine male katydid species song characteristic and oscillogram spectra results of vocal signals in Xinjiang,the pulse group structure,the number of pulses in the pulse group and the main energy peak frequency are stable,and the differences between species are significant.The characteristics can be used as the basis for the identification of the katydids species,and the duration were affected by factors such as temperature,was only used as a reference;2)Among the 27 species of 15 subfamilies known in Xinjiang,the Tettigoniidae has an absolute advantage,accounting for of the total genus and total species 33.33% and 55.56% of the total genus and total species,respectively.Among them,Soga natoliae is the only species that distributed in Xinjiang.3)In the zoogeographic regions of China,the single Region distribution of katydids in Xinjiang is dominated by the Palaearctic,accounting for 32% and 36% of the total distributed species,respectively,and the Double Region distribution accounts for 45% and 46% of the total distributed species,among which,the distribution of the Paleo-Northern Region;4)In the zoogeographic regions of China,Xinjiang katydids is dominated by single Region(the Mongolia-Xinjiang Region),accounting for 21% and 27% of the total distributed species,supplemented by multi-regional distribution,with the Double Region distribution accounting for the whole distribution type is 41% and 40%,and the Three Regions is distributed in Mongolia-Xinjiang+North-East Region+North-China Region,accounting for 7% and 9% of the total distributed species,respectively.Comparing the species composition of katydids in Xinjiang and other provinces in China,the species composition of Xinjiang and North-East Region is similar,there are fewer species in Shanxi,Henan,Guangxi and other places;5)The dynamics of the katydid species in Xinjiang over time were as follows: starting from May,reaching the peak in July-August,and decreasing in September..
