Research On The Influence Of Technological Spillover Of Manufacturing FDI On The Change Of Total Factor Productivity In Shandong Province

Under the background of economic globalization and China's manufacturing 2025,Shandong Province,as the eastern coastal province of China,has attracted a large amount of foreign direct investment by virtue of its own superior geographical location and market environment.And manufacturing industry,as a pillar industry in Shandong's economic development,has driven the prosperity of the province's economy over the years.However,Shandong Province is dominated by traditional manufacturing industries and lacks innovation,it needs to seek new impetus to promote further economic development,therefore,and the entry of foreign direct investment brings new opportunities for technological upgrading and industrial optimization of manufacturing industries.So on this basis,it is of great significance to study how Shandong Province uses FDI to promote the improvement of total factor productivity,technological efficiency and technological level in manufacturing.This article takes the manufacturing industry of Shandong Province as the research object.Firstly,it introduced the transmission mechanism of FDI industry and inter-industry technology spillover affecting total factor productivity.Secondly,analyzed the development status of manufacturing FDI and manufacturing total factor productivity in Shandong Province,in addition,selected the panel data of 15sub-industries in the manufacturing industry from 2007 to 2016,and used DEA-Malmquist model to measure total factor productivity,technical efficiency,and technological progress in Shandong's domestic manufacturing industry.Finally,based on the extended C-D production function,a regression model was established to empirically analyze the impact of FDI industry-to-industry technology spillovers on the change of total factor productivity.The research results show that the FDI direct spillover in the industry can effectively promote the improvement of total factor productivity and technological progress of domestic-funded manufacturing in Shandong Province;The FDI indirect spillovers in the industry will squeeze the living space of domestic companies and hinder the growth of total factor productivity,technological efficiency and technological progress;The FDI inter-industry back-linking effects can significantly promote the improvement of total factor productivity,technical efficiency,and technological progress in domestic-funded manufacturing;The FDI inter-industry forward linkage effect can weakly suppress the increase in total factor productivity and technical efficiency of domestic-funded manufacturing.
