In the context of a new round of global scientific and industrial revolution, the application of information technology in logistics is becoming broader and more profound. The integrated development of logistics and information industry has a promising prospect and infinite potentials, which can play a significant role in the strategies and framework of the economic and social development of our country, promoting the advance of techniques, the improvement of efficiency and the revolution of organization of logistics, improving the innovation ability and productivity in the logistics filed, and forming a new pattern of logistics.Currently,China is propelling the integrated development of logistics and information industry and has already made some progress. However, there still lacks a systematic research on the theoretical issues, such as the motivation, mechanisms and effects of such integration. In the meantime, the integration level of logistics and information industry and this integration's influence on the production efficiency of logistics in our country still remain to be analyzed and examined by science. In light of this, this paper discussed the connotation, motivation, mechanisms and effects of the integrated development of logistics and information industry and examined the impact of such industrial integration on the productivity of logistics and the characteristics of its threshold. The research contents and main conclusions of this paper are as follows:1.Research of the theoretical.Based on the theories of industrial integration and total factor productivity, this paper analyzes the advance and innovation of information and technology, the increasing demand for logistics, and the relaxation of restrictions promoted the integrated development of logistics and information industry which will innovate and optimize logistics and improve its competitiveness and the productivity of logistics.2.Analysis of Interaction between Logistics Industry and Information Industry in China.Based on panel data from 2002 to 2015,this paper use principal component analysis to estimates the level of the comprehensive development of the logistics industry and information industry in 30 regions of our country.Based on that,an analysis of the relationship between logistics industry and information industry in our country was made with the construction of panel VAR model. The results show that there is a long-term interaction between the logistics industry and the information industry.and the impact of the information industry on the logistics industry is higher than that of the logistics industry in the information industry.3.The integration level of logistics and information industry. The non-parametric stochastic frontier approach was adopted, and time effects, individual effects and input variables were introduced into the stochastic frontier model in a less-binding non-parametric manner, then to build an integration model for the logistics industry and information industry, respectively. And the coordinated development coefficient approach was adopted to measure the integration level of logistics industry and information industry. The results show that:(1)in the process of integration and development of the logistics industry, the average integration coefficient of the information industry in promoting the logistics industry is generally at a high level, and the integration effect is remarkable.(2)In the process of integration and development of the information industry, the average integration coefficient of the information industry driven by the logistics industry is generally at a lower level, and the effect of integration is not obvious;(3)As a whole, the level of integration between logistics and information industry shows a gradual upward trend, but there is still a gap between the regions with certain geographical characteristics.4.Analysis on the production efficiency of logistics in China. In this paper,DEA-Malmquist index method is used to calculate total factor productivity of China's logistics industry. The results show that, overall, the total factor productivity of China's logistics industry shows an increasing trend.Among them, technological progress is the main source of total factor productivity growth in logistics industry, while technical efficiency has some obstacles to the growth of total factor productivity in logistics industry.5.The impact of such industrial integration on the productivity of logistics and the characteristics of its threshold. The panel regression model is adopted to analyze the impact of the integration of the logistics industry and information industry on total factor productivity of the logistics industry. The results show that industry integration can affect the total factor productivity of the logistics industry and promote the growth of total factor productivity of the logistics industry by influencing the technological progress of the logistics industry. On the base of these, the paper analysis the threshold characteristics of industrial integration's influence on total factor productivity of the logistics industry,it can be found that there is a threshold effect between industry integration and total factor productivity of the logistics industry. When the threshold value of the level of integration reaches at 0.596,industry integration can significantly promote the total factor productivity of the logistics industry. Finally, the study of countermeasures. This paper proposes that enterprises can rely on information technologies to allocate resources and formulate their own information strategy.Government can increase support for logistics information facilities such as information technology and platform Efforts,as well as combining the level of industrial integration in the region to develop suitable strategy.
