The regional center cities are cities that are in a dominant position within the region and play a key role in driving the development of neighboring cities.Since the reform and opening up,the rapid progress of urbanization has led to the outbreak of various development issues that have occurred in the developed countries more than 100 years in China,and the task of sustainable development has been arduous.The transformation of regional center cities has become the bottleneck of sustainable development in China.How to solve the problems of development of regional center cities and promote the sustainable development of cities has become an urgent problem to be solved.Green development is one of the five development concepts of China's "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan".Sustainable development is the focus of China's current development,green transformation is a feasible way to break through the difficulties of urban development and promote sustainable development.This article first comprehensively sorts out the research results of green transformation,summarizes the research related to green transformation,and concludes that the connotation of green transformation is: from the economic,social,and ecological discordant development patterns to the coordinated development of economy,society,and ecology.According to the characteristics of the development of regional centers,a comprehensive analysis of the status quo of central cities in China will be conducted from the perspective of the four subsystems of economy,population,energy,and the environment,and the key elements affecting the green transformation of regional centers will be derived based on the improved PSR model.The system dynamics method was used to establish a model for simulation.From the four subsystems that affect the green transformation of the regional center cities,build a causal relationship flow diagram.Three levels of variables,five rate variables,four constants,36 auxiliary variables,and 25 exogenous variables were selected to construct a system dynamics flow chart.By establishing a system dynamics equation,the causality between variables is quantified.With Vensim-PLE software,the historical test and robustness test of the model ensure that the model has better simulation accuracy and practicality.A typical regional center city,Shenyang,was selected for example application.The basic data was Shenyang's development data from 2006 to 2015,and a basic simulation of the urban development trend of Shenyang in 2025 was carried out.Five scenarios were selected:basic development model,industrial structure adjustment model,speeding up urbanization speed model,energy saving and emission reduction model,and green transformation model to simulate and select the optimal development model based on the simulation results.Analyze the simulation results and propose the following suggestions for the green transformation of the regional center cities:(1)Accelerate the industrial green restructuring and promote the transformation of traditional industries;(2)Accelerate the innovation of green technology in regional center cities;(3)Promote the process of urbanization in a rational manner,build a balanced regional center city;(4)Increase energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions and pollutant emissions;(5)Improve green transformation related regulations and supervision.The research can provide guidance for green transformation of regional center cities and other cities in the region.
