Land resources are the foundation for human beings to survive and develop, and they are also effective carriers for all resources and the environment. With the advancement of urbanization in China process and rapid economic development, arable land resources have been transformed into urban construction land.It leads to the decrease of arable land resources, unreasonable land use structure, tight supply and demand of land resources, degradation of the ecosystem, and obstructing the sustainable use of land resources. The Party's "Nineteenth National Congress Report" also explicitly pointed out that efforts should be made to solve outstanding environmental problems and strengthen soil pollution control and repair;strengthen the protection of the ecosystem, attach importance to the intensity of input, carry out land-related greening operations;strictly optimize the use of land and expand the return of farmland to forests and grasslands;complete the three lines of ecological protection red line, permanent basic farmland, and town development boundary. It can be seen that the deterioration of the land ecological environment, the contradiction between supply and demand, and the reduction of cultivated land resources are issues that need to be resolved in the present. This paper takes Shandong Province as an example to comprehensively evaluate the sustainable utilization level of land resources in Shandong Province,so as to provide more constructive suggestions for sustainable land use.Shandong Province is a populous province with relatively small per capita land resources and is in a transitional period of economic development. The demand for and utilization of land resources have also changed. Therefore,at this stage,it is crucial to achieve a balance between the economic development of society and the sustainable use of land resources. In view of this, based on the theoretical analysis, this paper establishes an evaluation index system for sustainable land use in Shandong Province based on the DPSIR model.Combining matter element analysis and entropy method(Short term entropy weight matter element analysis),Scientific evaluation of the dynamic changes in the sustainable use of land in Shandong Province from 2009 to 2015.In conjunction withArcGis 10.2 software,we conducted spatial differences in the sustainable land use of the17 cities in Shandong Province in 2015.Further,we have grasped the problems existing in land use in Shandong Province as a whole and came up with more constructive opinions. The empirical findings are as follows:First.Through the evaluation of the sustainable use of land resources in Shandong Province from 2009 to 2015,the surface of sustainable land use in Shandong Province has shown a trend of sustainable conversion from unsustainable to weak sustainable to medium-term,the overall land use level has been continuously optimized. After analyzing each single indicator,it was found that most of the indicators such as per capita GDP,sewage treatment rate, domestic waste treatment rate, urbanization rate, etc.,were all from the perspective of unsustainable or weak sustainable development to sustainable or strongly sustainable, but there are also some indicators that show changes in the opposite direction, such as the proportion of environmental protection expenditures in fiscal expenditure.Second.Using the entropy-weighted matter-element method to analyze hierarchical association degree of each system layer,it is found that the overall change trend of pressure, state, and impact factor is slowly increasing, the driving force factor is fluctuating, and the response factor is decreasing. The driving force factor is a potential factor that affects the sustainable use of the land. The effect on the land cannot be seen in a short time. The response factor reflects the government's current policies and measures for land use,and the decrease in the response factor indicates that The government has not put in place policies and measures to strengthen environmental protection supervision, increase investment in environmental protection, and accelerate the environmental protection process.Third.According to the analysis of the spatial differences in the sustainable use of land in 17 cities in Shandong Province in 2015,concluded that most of the cities in Shandong Province have entered a moderately sustainable state.Only the four cities of Jining,Tai'an,Linyi, and Zaozhuang are still in Weakly sustainable state. The study of the differences in sustainable land use at different levels found that driving factors, stress factors, state factors, impact factors, and response factors are more sustainable in the coastal areas thanin inland areas, and the province appears to be unsustainable or weakly sustainable from west to east.Sustainable, strong sustainable conversion trends.
