Research On Improvement Of Mainboard Maintenance Efficiency Of Foxconn Mobile Phone From Lean Production Perspective

Entering 21 th century,China government launched the “Made in China 2025” project to improve the current low-efficiency and labor-intensive manufacturing industry.With this,many traditional manufacturing companies are adopting lean manufacturing to enhance efficiency and control cost.As part of the traditional manufacturing industry,TFB under MLB,IDPBG BU,Foxconn,has applied lean manufacturing theory on the current scenarios of the company to pinpoint issues which are impacting the performance of the repair line,investigated the problems with corresponding solutions,and applied such solutions to improve productivity of mobile phone repair line.This research is devoted to supporting the development strategy of the company and make it more competitive in market.This paper focused on the analysis of the low performance of the repair stations of mobile phones,ranging from the repair process,company organization,layout of repair line to business management.After investigation,systematic analysis,comparison analysis,inner-outer environmental analysis,and composition analysis were applied to find out the root cause of the low efficiency.Based on the properties of mobile phone repair,data was collected for repair station load balancing,line management and other prospective.Finally,category analysis was applied to lean manufacturing to find the solutions,including load balance of repair station,re-organization,layout optimization,management,and facility maintenance.The quality and customer satisfaction witnessed significant improvement,which leads a revenue raise,and solid the long-term development theory of the company.In summary,this paper investigated,defined,analyzed,and solved the typical problems of low productivity of repair process of mobile phones repair of TFB company management,based on lean manufacturing theory.With solutions of load balancing,layout optimization,enhanced repair line management,excellent team,execution of solution,and monitoring of solution,the business culture of lean manufacturing)were adopted to ensure the realization of lean manufacturing theory and thus improved the efficiency of repair process of the company.The research results of this paper could also be applied to other similar companies with mobile phone business' development and operation.The management quality and competitiveness of companies could also be improved in this process.
