In today's world of economic globalization and the development of electronic technology,electronic manufacturing industry has entered a new historical stage of development.Electronics manufacturers,in this increasingly competitive market,made certain progress in manufacturing technology,production and operations,especially in the area of supply chain management,through the ongoing production innovation.Among these,supplier management played a critical role to the success or failure.Having a strong cooperation with strategic suppliers,will bring in the short purchase lead-time,improved product quality,reduced cost and finally will increase the company's competitiveness significantly in the market.For this reason,the selection and management of suppliers,by establishing a scientific management system,becoming an important performance indicator of electronics manufacturers' operation management system.Therefore,in this paper,taking F company,well known as a world leading electronics manufacturing service providers,as example,studying and analyzing the feasibility of supplier management solutions in EMS industry.Firstly,this paper introduces the background and significance of this study,explains the research ideas,methods,content and framework.Secondly,this paper explains the current situation of supplier management of F company by using data analysis and cases study.Then,the four major problems exist in F company in supplier management,including supplier selection,supplier base management,supply negotiation cycle management,and supplier performance evaluation are presented.Following on,by using the theory and knowledge as a guide,put forward specific improvement scheme,including through the use of early supplier involvement strategy,vertical integration strategy and strategic supplier management strategy,actively participate in the research and development of new products with customer,strengthen supplier selection involvement;use supply base optimization strategy,adjust supply base to maintain the scale of competitive suppliers;use of material and supplier classification strategy and information strategy,optimize supplier price negotiation cycle and process management,improve the efficiency of supplier price management;establish the system of supplier performance management to enhance the supplier management.This paper is targeting to explore management methods and strategies of supplier management in electronics manufacturing industry,from theory to practice,so that to provide solutions for further improvement in supplier management area.
