Y Company R&D Project Management Competency Model Research

In recent years,with the rapid development of domestic automobile industry,the enlarging auto marketing and scale has made competition increasingly prominent.Proved by practical,enterprise R&D capacity is the key of competition,and it improvement has to be realized with the R&D project.Effective R&D project management can not only strengthen the R&D capacity,motivate employees' innovative awareness but also change economic performance.How to improve the project management level has been a problem of great concern for enterprise.With the research of competency and relative theory development,it's provided a completely new perspective for the project management.Therefore,researching and evaluating R&D project with competency theory becomes very important and creating the competency model is also of great real significance.This paper proceeds from the theoretical research,bases on competency,competency model and project management research result,makes conclusion from both domestic and overseas scholars' study,summaries competency as well as the current status of automotive industry project management competency study.Using Y vehicle company as study case,this paper utilizes relevant theory and research result to define the competency according to the auto industry developmental characters and R&D project management required professional skills.This paper,adopting comprehensive study approach like documernt research,semi-structured interview,behavioral event interview and questionnaire survey,discusses the project management competency model creation and application in Y vehicle company.This paper,by focusing on the R&D project management,not only brings a certain economic benefit for enterprise but also provides a referential model for similar enterprise to carry out the project management.
