With the development of society,the project is becoming more and more important,the ability or project management of the enterprise paves the way of the enterprise's sustained development.Now that the project manager is the core of the team and playing more and more essential role to the success of the project,the project manager with which kind of competence can achieve the project better and increase the successful rate of the project.This article just wants to do some research about the competency model of the project manager and its application.Based on a lot of theoretical analysis,we build the model of the project man ager,also,we g ave more behavior explanation and the method of how to establish each factor weight to this model,such as the selection,the perform ance management and the training of the project manager,wishing to play the reference role to the human resource management of the enterprise and improve the successful rate of the project.To establish a reasonable and efficient performance management system,this article,bas ed on the outline of the correlative theories of competency model and performance management,by describing current situation on performance management of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Electronics Sub-council(ccpitecc),suggests to establish a performance management program on project manager in ccpitecc based on competency model and proposes implementation measurements of the program.The competency model theory offers the logical starting point for performance management,and companies can distinguish between high and low performance employees.Targeted for some professional knowledge and skills training to employee,more scientific selecting talent,enhance the enthusiasm of the staff,give positive coaching as well.Make the staff have the better performance and more output for the enterprise.The competent model and linking employee performance management,can greatly improve the staff's working enthusiasm and promote enterprise's development.Establishing the performance management program on staff in ccpitecc based on competency model will cause the following changes in the practical activities of the company's performance management:pe rformance analysis will pay close attention to the competency appertaining to high performance,thereby having stronger predictability about performance;the evaluation of staffs core performance and skills by means of scientific potential assessment instruments will be favorable for the realization of enterprise's strategic objectives;staffs promotion not only follow closely knowledge and skills,but pa ys closer attention to one's potential competency and favor reasonable matching between people and posts;staff training pays more attention to the training that will influence staff potential competency.
