The development of China's packaging industry for more than 30 years,experienced from establishment,developing process from small to large size,but by reviewing the domestic packaging equipment enterprises in the overall situation till now,there are many problems like long-term staying in small scale,less technical capability and repetition on similar products.There is a great bottleneck and unhealthy state in their growth path,which seriously restricts the development of packaging industry.As the academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences Guan Hua Xu said,the timely formation of technological innovation capacity,rapid improvement of management level is the key factor in next decades and even more long-term historical period to promote the development of China's packaging equipment industry.In less than 1%of the developed enterprises,S enterprises as one of the best representative enterprises,which has been in a fine growth path,its growth path,the allocation of management factor and the strategy during its developing process,may have a lot benefit as important reference with learning value to other enterprises in the same industry who has urgent need for self-promotion when they are embracing new requirements and new technology in current and future market.This research takes S enterprise as the main object,using the Edith Corporate life cycle Theory as the analytical tool,and adopts case study method to carry on the detailed tracing to each life cycle stage and PAEI factor type in each stage of S enterprise's growth path.This paper demonstrates and analyzes the strategy adjustment of each stage and the corresponding PAEI factors,summarizes the structure of the PAEI elements and the key role of S enterprise which leads to successful strategy adjustment in its growth path.On this basis,the comparison analysis method is used to compare the difference of general growth path and PAEI factor between S enterprise and other general domestic small and medium sized packaging equipment enterprises which have unhealthy development experience,and summarizes the main problems result in failure of strategy adjustment and growth path.At the end,the research concludes that the deviation and alienation of enterprise target setting,the loss of the key elements for enterprise development is the major bottleneck that causes the poor development path of most small and medium sized packaging equipment enterprises,the amendments of these main bottlenecks will enable those enterprises to avoid prematurely accumulating morbid problems and lead to enter normal or optimized growth path.At the same time,based on the successful experience of S enterprise,the importance of the coordination elements in the growth of domestic private enterprises is emphasized.In China,few domestic enterprises is taking the adoption and application of Edith theory as diagnostic and analytical tools,especially by small and medium-sized private enterprises.This research come to a conclusion that,the composition of the PAEI elements in Edith Theory and its effect on the long-term and short-term goals of an enterprise,the evolution and analysis of the normal and morbid problems in different life cycle,is able to play a"diagnostic" role as an effective tool for small and medium-sized packaging equipment enterprises.
