Service trade is one of the most important forms of the world economy. It has been slowly developing as a subsidiary of goods trade since the 1970 s.From the late 1970 s to the late 1990 s,it was a period of rapid development of service trade. After entering the 21 st century, service trade began.Step into the development stage of liberalization in the specification.China's service trade started late, but it has developed rapidly. In 1980,China's service trade exports ranked around 30 in the world.By 2016,the world's service trade export rankings had risen to the fifth place, accounting for 4.3% of the world's share. However, the current research on the international competitiveness of service trade is not comprehensive enough. Therefore, this paper uses the index assessment method to evaluate the international competitiveness of China's service trade, and conducts empirical research on the factors affecting the international competitiveness of China's service trade,so as to make decisions for enterprises and government decisions.Provide theoretical basis.Based on the above facts, the international market share(MS),display comparative competitive advantage index(RCA),service trade competition advantage index(TC),and service trade openness(SO)are used to measure the international competitiveness of service trade in China. In order to make the results more pronounced, the major developed and developing countries were included in a comparative analysis to better understand the international competitiveness of China's service trade in the world. The results show that the deficit in service trade has been expanding year by year. The main sources of deficit are the tourism sector and the transportation sector.Although the new service trade sector is relatively small,it is basically in a surplus. That is to say,the competitive advantage of traditional industries is declining, and the competitive disadvantages of emerging industries are shrinking. In the competition for international service trade,it is at a disadvantage compared with developed countries, and there is almost no competitive advantage compared with developing countries. After that,an empirical analysis was made of the influencing factors of China's service trade. The influencing factors were selected from the number of employed people in the tertiary industry,GDP per capita, exports of goods, and foreign direct investment. The data were selected from 2002-2016 for the main sectors of service trade in China, and the data Take the unit root test and the cointegration test to show the empirical results. The results show that the number of employment in the tertiary industry,GDP per capita, export value of goods, and foreign direct investment have positive effects on the degree of service trade in China.Among them, the effect of the number of employees in the tertiary industry is the most important factor, and the impact of foreign direct investment is not significant.obvious.Finally,based on the above conclusions, this paper presents four related policy recommendations, including: optimizing the industrial structure and enhancing industry competitiveness;strengthening human capital construction, expanding the international market demand;and increasing the level of foreign investment.
