Along with the constant changes in information technology and the increasing diversification of material civilizations,consumer's ever-changing needs for clothes have posed new challenges to traditional clothing enterprise management mode.As the market facing severe homogenization,the competition between different clothing brands should not be only reliant on terminal marketing or the product itself,because the essential transformation of brand competition is intended for supply chain competition.With various links from yarn production to ready-to-wear clothes,the entire clothing supply chain suffers from a variety of problems due to its length,thereby leading to higher demands on supply chain management.The intense market competition has caused the result that simple management mode of clothing industry fails to support enterprise development.This has imposed heavy pressures on enterprise's inventory management as a striking problem.Supply chain inventory management shows various advantages,such as improving traditional inventory management,providing new ideas for inventory management,advocating the pursuit of deeper cooperation between enterprises,enhancing information sharing,establishing a strategic win-win partnership through supply chain,conquering the waste of inventory arising out of "bullwhip effect",and reducing inventory cost for the sake of higher profits while improving service quality.In the present context,it is an effective measure to address numbers of problems in inventory management of clothing enterprise through supply chain management technique and method.As regards the study on supply chain management,current scholars have made a preliminary summary and conclusion about its connotation,contents and modes.Meanwhile,some studies are also conducted from different aspects of supply chain inventory management,such as its connotation,influencing factors and mode.Though the inventory management based on supply chain environment has been highly valued and widely applied in large enterprises abroad,China's study on supply chain management encounters various problems due to late start,such as lack of holistic concept about supply chain,unfamiliarity with the inventory management problems in supply chain environment and shortage of relevant literature.However,inventory management based on supply chain environment is a subject with strong practicability.In view of the factors above,this paper carries out a case study on a sportswear company in China,hoping to make a specific analysis and evaluation on the implementation of the inventory management optimization scheme based on supply chain environment as well as to sum up its successful experience to provide references for the supply chain inventory management of other enterprises in China.Starting with the operating mode,inventory and supply chain structure of A Company,this paper analyzes the current situation of A Company's inventory management to ascertain the deficiencies of its supply chain inventory management in combination with the acquired theoretical knowledge of supply chain.So A Company establishes collaborative partnerships,improves information systems,introduces third-party logistics to establish safeguard mechanism for inventory management optimization based on supply chain environment,and takes measures such as:(1)optimizes internal organizational structure and processes of A Company;(2)takes the supply chain inventory management model called Collaborative Planning,Forecasting and Replenishment;(3)expands network and outsources production,focuses on design and brand management;(4)improves the management system,implements inventory management performance assessment.As a result,A Company establishes a win-win relationship with enterprises in supply chain,increases the accuracy of demand forecast in a more in-depth information sharing,reduces excess inventory caused by the effect of "bullwhip effect",builds fast response mechanisms to reduce the company's inventory levels,promotes the company's cash flow situation and improves the operational efficiency.Finally,we evaluate the effect of inventory management optimization in supply chain in A Company.The inventory management optimization program in A Company achieves certain results but there are also some shortcomings,so as to provide some reference to other enterprises for inventory management optimization.In this paper,the first part revolves around introduction,elaborating on the research background and significance,literature review,and research thoughts and methods.The second part gives an introduction to the influence of supply chain environment on inventory management as well as the basic contents and modes of inventory management based on supply chain environment.The third part analyzes the current situation and problems of A Company's inventory management.The fourth part describes the inventory management optimization scheme,including the objective,safeguard mechanism and specific measure of inventory management optimization.The fifth part evaluates the effects of inventory management optimization,points out the defects and comes up with relevant suggestions.The final part reaches a conclusion.This paper hopes not only to further enrich the applied research on supply chain inventory management theory through the case study about A Company's inventory management optimization based on supply chain environment,but also to provide referential experience for the inventory management optimization of domestic clothing enterprises that face an intense competition.
