Inventory management has been an important part of supply chain management, although traditional inventory management also played no small role, but with the changes in the environment, has been unable to adapt to the needs of economic development, which has been proposed supplier inventory management (Vendor Managed Inventory, referred VMI), which is an effective supply chain management optimization method to alleviate the bullwhip effect caused by the traditional model.However, our VMI inventory management model for implementation of the results, the current VMI model there are still many problems, such as trust, technical, financial and economic conditions and other issues. Therefore, how to effectively break through the traditional VMI model, build inventory control methods suitable supplier of inventory management has become a major issue to be studied. In order to solve the issues related to the feasibility of self-VMI mode exists, we studied the operation of third-party logistics VMI mode, because third-party logistics proprietary advantage, making VMI mode solved many problems, the model enhances the VMI mode and applicability.VMI for third-party logistics operation mode, the paper combines theory and practice, given the specific implementation steps, methods, and suitable for the operation of the model environment and precautions. In this paper, the following aspects were studied. After the implementation of VMI by a third-party model, significantly enhance the level of logistics operations, such as corporate stock ZX aging, aging ship most of achievement rate of 100%. Material procurement time and time to complete customer orders, respectively, and 72 hours from 42 hours down to 3.5 hours and 36 hours. It also significantly reduces the cost of logistics enterprises LX, warehousing costs throughout the process did not occur in any of the raw materials, through the implementation of VMI model, LX company owned inventory rate decreased by more than 70 percent, saving a lot of logistics costs.
