The Research On The Vendor Managed Inventory Based On The Third Party Logistics

Along with the Supply Chain Management becomes more and more attractive, many enterprises start to pay attention on a new stock pattern --VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory). As one kind of new stock management strategy, VMI has fully manifested the supply chain integration which relies on the reasonable pattern design. How to realize the VMI becomes an important issue.There are some difficulties in the implement of VMI at present, mainly including: The success depends on the economic environment; income among each cooperation side is not equilibrium and very difficult to appraise; the credit problem exists among different sides; higher information management level is required, and so on. These limited the scope of VMI utilization, and make the function hard to display completely.It should be mentioned that, the success of VMI needs high demand in various aspects. Looking though success case of VMI, the key point is the enterprise has satisfied the demand, and redesigns the original management process, such as Wal-Mart and P&G We must redesign the original management process if we want carry out VMI in a wider domain and bring it into success. VMI handled by the Third Party Logistics may solve the problem and strengthens the feasibility. This dissertation studies VMI based on the Third Party Logistics.Focusing on the issue mentioned above, the dissertation has mainly conducted the research as following. First, based on related theory of the supply chain management, the Third Party Logistics and the VMI, analyzes the questions in the VMI implementation. Second, integrate the third party logistics' status and the function in the supply chain management, analyzes the VMI pattern base on the Third Party Logistics, and introduces its process, elaborated its superiority, carried on the model analysis to its economic effect, simultaneously pointed out the question in the VMI base on the Third Party Logistics to pay attention. Third, studies the precondition, implementing steps, and the key issues in the implementation success of VMI; then analyzes the risk and proposed the guard measure. Fourth, take LENOVO as the example, analyzes the implementation situation of the VMI base on the Third Party Logistics.
