Lean Six Sigma Application Research In The Production Of H Company Products

Lean & Six Sigma(LSS)is developing from initial organum into ideology thought,as an advanced management concepts,it is being accepted and promoted by more and more enterprises.From traditional manufacturing to service industry,people from all walks of life,including manufacturing,catering,hospital and bank,are being affected by Lean & Six Sigma.Although there is much difference between those industries and their processes,the essence of launching Lean & Six Sigma is same.They all keep focused on the entire process analysis,and take advantage of LSS tools(Value Steam Map\7 Wastes\ Time Value Analysis\DMAIC)to review the whole process,find out problems during process and put forward improvement measures.LSS is a combination of two kinds of thoughts lean manufacturing and Six Sigma.Lean production concepts stem from Toyota production system,its ultimate purpose is to eliminate waste;Six Sigma is a common concept in quality improvement,its main idea is to eliminate the variation.Those two thoughts look great different,but they have much in common such as: both are used in enterprise management,and both generally adopt the way of the project for the initial promotion,and they both have some special or general tools.On the other hand,eliminating the variation during process would also reduce the waste,and reducing the waste in process would also standardize the process,then variation would shrink as well.So they supplement each other,having been united already.H Company is a global multinational corporation held by US which has a long history and rich experience in Lean & Six Sigma application.Lean & Six Sigma theories are becoming part of the company culture and roll booster in H Company.Shenzhen factory whose main products are Thermostat\ Temperature Probe and Thermo Fuse is located in the Futian bonded area.After the company was established,DISC workshop and Temperature Probe workshop were transferred from the United States and Britain to Shenzhen factory,which provided a good opportunity for us to launch Lean Six Sigma in Shenzhen factory.Based on the study of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma around the world,the thesis details the origin,development and concerned tools of Lean Six Sigma.In this article,we have discussed the advantages and disadvantages of Lean Production and Six Sigma.Especially we studied the necessity and effectiveness of Lean Production combined with Six Sigma.On the basis of theoretical research and combining Lean Six Sigma model,the article introduced the Lean Six Sigma application with special tools in every phase(DMAIC).For example,SIPOC(Supplier-Input-Process-Output-Customer)\Process Map were used in definition phase,Key Process map\Value Stream Map were used in measure phase,Fish bone chart/Line Balance\Time value map were used in analysis phase,Thought-map\Standard work were used in improvement and control phase…The thesis integrated theory with practice.After introducing Lean Six Sigma theories,the author illustrated the implementation of Lean Six Sigma with actual cases which also brought new thought on the application of Lean Six Sigma for us.We can get a lot of sense in implementation of Lean Six Sigma from the case studying.Finally,the article should have many disadvantages due to limitations of the author’s ability and work experience of Lean Six Sigma.
