Research On Financial Risk Of Shipping Enterprise

Shipping is an important channel of goods traded internationally.At present,90% of China's foreign trade transportation is through the shipping.Shipping companies face more business risks such as natural disasters and the occasional accidents than other enterprises.The characteristics of financial risk have objectivity,uncertainty,profitability and so on.Financial risk management is not only a means and technology,but also a part of enterprise management.It has an irreplaceable role to reduce the financial losses of enterprises and enhance the ability to resist risks.And the shipping enterprises are not to establish a system of financial risk management.The 2008 world financial crisis has caused huge losses in the shipping industry.In order to promote China's shipping enterprise recovery and development,to reduce unnecessary losses,the financial risk of shipping enterprises should be identified,avoided,measured and controlled to achieve better development.This article is divided into five parts.The first part combed on financial risk management research results both at home and abroad.It points out that that the purpose of this study and significance,research ideas and methods in this paper.The second part related theory of financial risk management,including shipping companies,risk and financial risk of related basic theory.The third part expounds the present situation and necessity of shipping enterprise financial risk management,summed up the shortage of the shipping company's financial risk management.Fourth part is on the basis of enterprise financial risk management theory and current research on the navigation to study COSCO financial risk by analyzing COSCO financial statements and the company's financial risk management present situation.According to the theory and case analysis,the fifth part put forward the countermeasures to strengthen the management of shipping enterprise financial risk.This paper analyzes COSCO finance financial statements and business strategy between 2010 to 2015 to study the risk identification and risk control of shipping enterprises,and to put forward the corresponding countermeasures.It also can help COSCO and the shipping companies to get out of the “cold winter” earlier.
