The Influence Of The Technology Innovation To Employment Growth

Since the reform and opening up, China's society has achieved rapid development in an all-around way, but at the same time, it also faces many challenges, one of the important issues is the influence of the technology innovation on employment. As we all know, Technology innovation is an important power of social development and directly promotes the economic progress. Since entering 21st century, the rapid extension of science and technology, the extensive rise of knowledge economy, all made an important contribution to the development of society economy, but at the same time, we found that the employment situation of our country is still very serious, not with the increase of economy improvement, even appearing a worse situation. While technology innovation's promoting effect on economic growth has been confirmed by many scholars, and in the long run,technology innovation does not cause large-scale unemployment, which can be proved by the development process of western countries, but the relationship between the technology innovation and employment change in the short term has not yet been determined, and different ways of technology innovation have different effects on employment change, so it is necessary for us to study.Employment is an important goal of macroeconomic policy, also an important content of the harmonious development of society. Based on the core topic of technology and employ growth, Firstly, this paper expounded the background and significance of the topic research?the research methods and content distribution.Secondly, we teased the theory of technology innovation?employment or unemployment?the relationship between them, and summarized the existing results at home and abroad, finding out the deficiency in the domestic institute at present.Then, we presented the current situation of technology innovation and employment in China. Lastly, Based on the 2012 world bank survey data about China industrial enterprises, this paper analyzed the employment effect of technology innovation in short term from the perspectives of process innovation ? product innovation and enterprise R&D. Results show that: the relationship between process innovation and employment growth is significantly negative; the relationship between product innovation and employment growth is also significantly negative; enterprise R&D has an adverse impact on employment growth, but this impact is weaker. Compared with east coastal area, central and western regions have a more obvious employment substitution effect in technology innovation. In view of the above results, we put forward some corresponding countermeasures about the existing technology innovation patterns and policies.
