With the improvement of people's income and their consciousness of child education,parent-child travel has been independent from child travel and family travel.The advancement of urbanization leads to higher enthusiasm of urban families for rural travel and experience,so the market of parent-child travel to countryside had been developing rapidly.However,China lags behind in developing products about parent-child travel to countryside both theoretically and practically.There are problems such as imperfect theoretical system,unclear market segmentation,insufficient supporting facilities and ineffective tourism security.Furthermore,the products lack of characteristics and there are not enough interactive experience between parents and children.Therefore,it is necessary to make clear the principles and aimed system,thus facilitating the construction of product development of parent-child travel to countryside.Based on foreign and domestic literature,this paper first differentiates pair concepts including parent-child travel and family travel,parent-child travel and child travel,and parent-child travel and intergenerational travel.It then concludes that parent-child travel to countryside is a kind of tourism with countryside as position,rural environment and resources as basic elements,and travelers as the core to engage in interactive experience.Parent-child travel to countryside has many stages;there are interactions between the subjects;travels are in security and the activities are of rural characteristics.This paper combines parent-child travel to countryside with theories such as child development stages,three-dimensional teaching targets,flow theory and Rousseau's natural education.And concludes five ideas of the travel:rural characteristics,educational goals,interactive process,emotion-inspiring products and safe facilities.The theoretical framework of developing products of the travel is constructed from three dimensions:the goals to educate,interact and improve the relationship between parents and children.Among them,the first two dimensions,influencing each other,form the basics to development and the main line to organize.The last dimension is the higher goal of product development.It is supported by the first two goals,and improve products of the travel through feedback mechanism.Urban families were inquired about their demand for rural travel from such aspects as behavioral characteristics and product preference of customers.By combining it with children's development of cognition,body,and personality and sociality,this paper proposes an idea of developing products of parent-child travel to countryside from three stages:pre-school children,school children and teenager.To pre-school children,it should pay attention to games and other activities for fun,thus facilitating their cognitional transformation from specific image to abstract logic,promoting their physical and mental health.In the process,the goal of parent-child interaction can be realized,and the sense of security and communication can be advanced.To school children,it should focus on such activities as DIY and those interesting and educational games,thus satisfying their curiosity.The goal of interaction is realized,and the communication and equality between the two generations can be promoted in the process.To teenagers,rural DIY and outdoor activities should be combined to achieve the goal of interaction and improve the trust and tacit understanding.In addition,this paper will propose suggestions to constructing the security system of parent-child travel to countryside in three other respects,including improving hardware security facilities,strengthening tourism safety management and advancing tourists' security consciousness.Suggestions concerning other travel aspects like catering,accommodation,transportation,sightseeing,shopping and entertainment are also provided.
