| Since the reform and opening-up,China’s economic growth mainly depends on the comparative advantages of material consumption,factor inputs and low cost.However,this development model has been difficult to sustain,resource and energy have been difficult to support the development,and the ecological environment has been unbearable.Therefore,it is necessary to fully play the role of “innovation as the leading force for development”,to accelerate the transition from the traditional economic growth pattern to innovation drive,to greatly enhance the contribution of technological progress to economic growth,and to make independent innovation become the inner power of the good and fast development of economic and society.Gansu Province,one of the classic western less developed areas of China,is relatively rich in technological innovation resources,and has made relatively rapid technological progress in recent years.Based on such situation and the strategy of national innovation,this paper takes the typical area as an example,so it is greatly theoretical and practical significance to explore the economic growth by relying on technological innovation in the less developed areas.This paper deeply analyzes the effect of technological innovation on economic growth and its regional difference in Gansu province by building VAR model and panel data model.Firstly,build the index system of technological innovation ability value of Gansu Province,and use the entropy method to measure the value of technological innovation ability of Gansu Province from 1998 to 2014.Secondly,examine the correlation、stability and causality between technological innovation and economic growth,and analyze the impact of technological innovation on economic growth in Gansu Province by autoregressive model.Thirdly,based on the panel data of 14 prefecture-level cities in Gansu Province,analyze the impact of technological innovation on economic growth.Finally,explore the regional differences of the impact of technological innovation on economic growth.Based on the above research,this study mainly draws the following conclusions:(1)Technological innovation ability in Gansu Province is obviously improved.The results show that the level of technological innovation in Gansu Province has been improved obviously during the period of research by the entropy method to measure technological innovation ability from 1998 to 2014;(2)Technological innovation can significantly promote economic growth in Gansu Province.Through building VAR model,the result show that technological innovation can significantly promote economic growth in Gansu Province.Still,based on the analysis of panel data in 14 regions of Gansu Province,it is also concluded that technological innovation has a significant impact on economic growth in Gansu Province;(3)The impact of technological innovation on economic growth has obvious regional differences in Gansu Province.The impact of the strongest degree is Lanzhou City,the impact of a strong degree is Jiayuguan City,Baiyin City,Qingyang City,Jiuquan City,the impact of the general degree is Linxia,Dingxi City,Gannan,Jinchang City,the weakest impact is Wuwei City,Tianshui City,Zhangye City,Pingliang City,and technological innovation has no significant impact on economic growth is Longnan City;(4)The regions where the technological innovation has a significant impact on economic growth has a clear evolutionary trend in Gansu province,and these regions has gradually evolved to the regions based on the Lanzhou City,Jiu-jia area and Tianshui City. |
