A Study About Regional Economic Difference Of Gansu Province

"The disparities of regional economy is absolute, the balance is relative".The expansion of the economic difference in region has become a popular phenomenon,which exist between nations and regions.Recently,after more and more research,we are increacingly conscious that expansion of economic difference not only negatively impacts economic development speed,but also impacts its sustainable development. Because economic problem impacts on the economy development and social stability,thus we have to pay great attention to it.This thesis divides into six chapters altogether,as follows:Firstly: the thesis introduces the background and meaning. Secondly, the thesis introduces the theoretical foundations and conceptions of the difference of regional economy. Thirdly, the thesis discribes current situation of Gansu province. through collecting initial data, arrangement, and using the analytical methodand,we would carry on analysis to Gansu province's 14 regions,and have further understanding. Fourthly, the thesis analyzed the convergence of regional economy in Gansu province based on the economy growth convergence theory and method. Based on information from 1985 to 2006, the thesis useσ-convergence,β- convergence and club-convergence in order to forecasting the trend of the economic difference in economic region. Fifthly, the thesis analyses the various factors which affect the economic development of each economy region. we would analyses those factors in details, such as factors input,the industrial structure, institution,the nature, the position and the resources. Finally, in order to eliminate great difference of economic region in Gansu province, the thesis proposes some measures.
