Research On The Relationship Between Energy Performance Contracting Projects' Critical Success Factors And Projects Performance

Under the pressure of limited resources and environmental pollution,energy conservation and emissions reduction appealed more and more attention.Energy performance contracting,as a professional and systematic energy-saving mechanism,has received widespread attention in the world.Due to the unsound enterprise credit mechanism,financing difficulties,distrust between energy service companies and clients and so on,the energy performance contracting doesn't operate very well.Under the condition of limited resources,the research on critical success factors can make project participants allocate resources reasonable,and can also avoid risks so as to improve the project success probability.Existing literature of energy performance contracting projects' critical success factors mainly suitable for a particular area,and failed to explain the influence degree of the critical success factors and key performance indicators.This dissertation is to determine critical success factors of energy performance contracting projects,and to verify its' influence degree to the key performance indicators.Firstly,through literature analysis and interviews with managers in the energy service company,we identified the projects' critical success factors in three aspects which are project related factors,project participants related factors and the external environment related factors.At the same time,project risk,benefit sharing,final energy saving,and the participants' satisfaction on both sides of the energy performance contracting projects are identified as the key performance indicators.Through the factor analysis by SPSS18.0 software,three latent variables were ultimately determined with its' seventeen observed variables to applied to structural equation model.Using Amos17.0 software to estimate the structural equation model,then test and verify the hypothesis.The results confirmed the relationship of energy performance contracting projects' critical success factors and key performance indicators.Contrasting to projects' participant related factors and project related factors,results showed that the external environment related factors have a greater influence on the projects' performance.Finally we explained the research results with the interview content of managers,and put forward some suggestions.
