This research develops new advanced statistical methods by aiming at investigating the effects of critical success factors on Chinese project in Lao PDR,by using quantitative data as well as questionnaires, and the primary data was collected from 264 medium-high position managers executing various projects in Lao PDR.To carry out this research, some special technique and advanced statistical methods such as confirmatory factor analysis(CFA)(J?reskog,1969),(Scienoe,1985),structural equation modelling(SEM)were employed tocapture the relationship between a set of manifest variables and latent variables in the estimated model, which were also used to aver whether the measurement models of latent variables can be applicable and corresponding with the determined benchmark, theoretical affirmation and empirical evidence where the area of study surveyed.Similarly,by complementing a confirmatory factor analysis(CFA)(J?reskog,1969),(Scienoe,1985)and structural equation modelling(SEM)mentioned, this paper was also applied multiple linear regression in order to substantiate some paramount factors(Fortune & White,2006)influencing on Chinse project success(CPS)by application of Analysis of Moment Structures(AMOS)and Statistical Package for Social Science(SPSS)software. The outcomes of empirical evidencereveal that the most important factors on Chinese project success in Lao PDR which need to be pondered including 1)project have fully supported from the senior executive(= 4.08,S.D = 0.86),2)the accomplished project has strongly very clear realistic aims and objectives”(= 3.96,S.D = 0.86),3),there area robust operation and thorough plan” by total average and standard deviation(= 3.91,S.D = 0.96),4)project can be adaptable in term of organization, culture and structure(= 3.89,S.D = 0.92)and 5)project managers have the competent skills and particular capabilities(= 3.71,S.D = 0.99).The results of re-specific models for confirmatory factor analysis(CFA)and structural equation modelling(SEM)have been strongly averred that Chi-Square is an acceptable benchmark, significance level(p-value)is greater than 0.05(p-value >0.05)(Kline,2005).Implying that the initial hypothesis cannot be rejected(null hypothesis is accepted),and the valid interference can be deducedthe absence of statistical significance at 0.05% level in the measurement model.Hence, the findings demonstrate the measurement model of the latent variableshas been consistent with the acquired data where the research conducted, which the results of the studyalso correspond witha theoreticalconfirmation(Fortune & White,2006).More significantly, this paper affirms thecritical success factors in term of environmental dimensions has a positive direct effect on resource factors while the existence of a positivedirect effect of resource factors towards decisionmakers.Conversely, environmental success factors have a positive indirect effect on continuity success factors through resource factors and so on.To complement the aforesaid results, this paper also employed multiple linear regression in order to capture the main critical success factors influencing to Chinese project success. As a result of econometric model,it is asserted the non-existence of heteroskedasticity in the estimated model(Homoskedasticity or variance is constant in the model)and all the main dimensions(nine independent variables)of formal system model(FSM)developed by(Fortune & White,2006)have strongly statisticalsignificance(merely exempt boundary factor)and have positive effect on Chinese project success(CPS)in Lao PDR with a 1% significance level.Furthermore, the outcomes of econometric model surprisingly insisted the most critical success factors affecting on Chinese project success were composed of resources, decisionmakers, continuity and environmental situations in succession and all the assumptions have been accepted and corresponding with the theoretical confirmations(Fortune & White,2006)and major policy implications are recommended for both the Chinese project managers/investors and Lao government.
