The urban and rural integration written by Marx and Engels is a part of marxist theory.Although Marx and Engels did not discuss the idea of "urban-rural composition" in one particular book,they have mentioned the great impact of"urban-rural composition" on the whole development of society in many of their books.The ideas of Marx and Engels are presented in a comprehensive,integrated and systematic way,which reflects the value of the idea of "urban-rural composition".At present,to a certain extent,large urban-rural gap and urban-rural imbalance have become the bottleneck of comprehensively deepening reform,building a well-off society and a harmonious socialist society in an all-round way.And it has become an important problem that restricts the coordinated development of Chinese economy and society.Since the Sixteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China,the party and government have promulgated various measures to solve this problem,with remarkable results.However,due to the historic gap between urban and rural areas,there are still many incompatible aspects of urban and rural development,and the gap between urban and rural areas is still very grim.Today,we review Marx and Engels’s theory of "urban-rural composition",which is of great theoretical and practical significance for Chinese current urban and rural integration construction and promoting the sustained and healthy development of the people.The thesis mainly includes the following three parts.In the first part,it is discussed that the formation and development of Marx and Engels urban-rural integration thought.The idea is formed under the background of the industrial revolution and urbanization.Marx and Engels critically inherited the utopian socialist thought of More,Fourier and Owen,Adam Smith’s urban-rural relations theory and Mr Liebig’s agricultural chemical theory.And finally the’’urban-rural integration" is in the course of formation.Their thoughts had been passing through three stages:germination stage,forming stage and mature stage.For every single of us,it is important not only to understand every stage of their thoughts but also to grasp the spiritual essence of Marx and Engels urban-rural integration thought.In the second part,combing the basic content of Marx and Engels urban-rural integration thought is the main task.Analyzing the cause and negative influence of the separation and opposition between urban and rural areas reveals that the"urban-rural integration" is an inevitable trend in the development of urban and rural relations.Besides,Marx and Engels put forward the future society’s basic idea and the method to realize it.According to the understanding of the basic content,they provide theoretical guidance for our country urban and rural integration practice.In the third part,the paper analyses the contemporary value of Marx and Engels urban-rural integration thought.Marx and Engels urban-rural integration thought is not only the theoretical foundation of the contemporary Chinese urban and rural integration,and the guidance of urban and rural integration practice in contemporary China.After the founding of China,the party and government have put forward a series of urban and rural integration sinicization of thought and action in order to go with the tide.Our country’s urban-rural integration is one of the most important strategies for the construction of a harmonious society.And as a result,our Chinese dream would come true.
