Evaluation Study On Economic Adaptability Of Yangtze River Shipping Center's Port

As the project of Yangtze River economic zone was incorporated into the national strategy,the port cities along Yangtze river are entering a new historical stage.As the core city in the upper reaches,middle reaches and lower reaches of Yangtze river,Shanghai,Nanjing,Wuhan and Chongqing have been constructing the international shipping center one after another.It makes the support from port economy to urban economy has become increasingly apparent.And the rapid development of urban economy has laid a solid foundation for the development of the port too.In this new time and new situation,the relationship between port and urban economy has become more complicated.So,could the development of the port adapt the needs of the development of urban economy? How can the port and the economy develop in adapting each other? These questions are the important and pressing issue in the new time.Based on predecessors' study about the adaptability of port and city,and summarize the theory about the adaptability between port and urban economy,this paper will divide the adaptability into development degree,coordination degree and sustainable degree to analyze.Firstly we analyze the port's and urban economy's development situation of each shipping center city,and compare the development situation across these cities.And then under the affection of a series of factors,we construct the port development's economic adaptability evaluation index system.Also,by using exponential smoothing method,we predict the adaptability between the port and economy in the future.At last,using the principal component analysis and coordination degree mode to evaluate each city's adaption between port and economy.According to the evaluation results,we offer some proposal about the development of port and urban economy.By combining qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis method,we study each shipping center city's present and future adaptability between port and economy,then offer some suggestions about development strategy in the new time and new situation.In the context of developing the Yangtze river economic zone,this paper has important significance on studying the connotation of the adaptability between port and economy,grasping the growing trend of port and urban economy,accelerating the strategy of the Yangtze river economic zone,and making the Yangtze river economic zone into a world-influence inland river economic zone.
