Specialization And Evolution Of China Region In The Global Value Chain

Since the early 1990s,global resources effective integration and international division of labor pattern have taken place great changes.The international division of labor has gone through the inter-industry specialization to intra-industry division of labor.It is the process of deepening.And further formed a global value chain based on intra-product specialization.Nowadays,being a good position in the global competition is an important task of China’s provinces and the industries.Enhancing the GVC division of participation and status of provinces and the industries and Developing high technology industry,improving the quality of inputs,so as to strengthen the influence of Chinese products in international specialization and improve our comprehensive national power,even to realize Chinese dream of great national rejuvenation.Based on the systematic review of relevant literature and results at home and abroad,this paper attempts to analysis the production linkages among provinces and specialization of China region in the global value chain from value-added trade.By analyzing and summarizing predecessors’ research results,we improve and construct the inter-regional non-competitive I-O model and related indicators.Using the theory of global value chain,we analyze the source and destination of added value in regional trade sources.This paper analyzes the export and changes of provinces and industries from the vertical specialization degree,upstreamness,product technology and factor level.Through Through the 2007,2010,two-year regional input-output table decomposi-ng the 2007,2010,two-year regional input-output table,results show that:(1)the value added exports divided into three parts:Province value added,Provincial value added,Foreign value added.Segmenting the whereabouts of added value.The largest share of the added value is directly absorbed by the foreign countries.the degree of participation in GVC is increasing.The participation of coastal provinces is higher than the others.(2)Complex technical products in the coastal provinces products in the coastal provinces export more than the Middle.And the Middle rise in technology exports and the position in global value chains has been markedly improved.(3)Provinces upstream industries are mainly concentrated in the resource industries and the textile industry,technology-intensive industries such as manufacturing are relative downstream.(4)China’s exports more use of labor and capital and in the middle and lower position of the global value chain,varied between regions,coastal provinces dominated by technology-intensive exports,more skilled labor,for capital elements and cheap labor in the Midwest.
