In recent years,China has been the largest exporter in the world,it’s export volume has been rising. In 2007,China’s exports were $935630.6 billion, and by 2012 it increased to 129,359.3 billion yuan, and the growth rate was at 38%.The huge export scale reflects China’s important position in the global industrial chain and China has been "the world processing plant".Shandong province is one of the important export provinces in China, the proportion of it’s annual export accounted for total export has been more than 6%,but behind the huge export scale there are also some problems such as the quality of export products is not high.At the same time the processing trade in the total exports accounted for a large share of export, this kind of trade can bring a lot of exports but only a small amount of processing fees.In this case, the inapplicability of using traditional trade statistics in the measurement of international trade of Shandong province will lead to "statistical illusion",and the actual benefits of large-scale exports may not be imaginable. The World Trade Organization and other major international economic organizations have proposed the way of accounting for trade value-added.Against this background, this paper applies the value-added of trade to the foreign trade accounting of Shandong province and analyzing the real value-added of Shandong export trade and its influencing factors,in order to provide an important reference for improving the economic benefit of Shandong province’s export. The innovation in this paper is to use the method of value-added to provincial international trade for the first time, and decomposes the factors that affect the value-added in trade. Therefore, the reasons for the change of value-added in Shandong’s export are clarified. The main research methods of this paper are input-output method and LMDI approach to decomposition analysis.Firstly, based on the production value-added of Shandong province, this paper uses the input-output model to calculate the value-added of each export sector in Shandong province. And then using the LMDI approach to decompose the factors that affect the value-added in export trade,in order to reveal the effect of the value-added of export in Shandong province. The research results are as follows: The value-added of export trade in Shandong province increased significantly in 2012,indicating the rapid development of export trade in Shandong province.Compared with 2007,in 2012,48 departments had lower average rate of the value-added of export trade, suggesting the differences of value-added of trade between departments and there is the uneven development between the different export sectors in Shandong province.According to the value-added of export trade in Shandong province from 2007 to 2012,the decomposition results can be seen that the expansion of export in Shandong province from 2007 to 2012 has added the value-added of trade, however, the deterioration of export commodity structure and the falling of value-added rate have reduced the value-added of trade in Shandong province.
