China and Japan as important economies in the East Asian economic circle, since the resumption of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 1972,due to adjacent location, strong trade complementarity and trade dependence, the total trade volume between the two countries is on the rise.At the same time, with the deepening of the international division of labor, multinational companies divide the production value chain within the globe, making the production activities showing the trend of decentralized and fragmented, thus contributing to the formation of global value chain. In the context of the global value chain, international trade has changed from the past "trade in goods" to "trade of the task",and how to analyze Sino-Japanese trade in a more reasonable way is particularly important.First, this paper analyzes the current situation of China’s export to Japan from the three aspects: overall scale of export, commodity structure characteristics of export and geographical characteristics of export, which makes a preliminary understanding of Sino-Japanese trade. Then use the value-added trade statistics method estimates the China’s value-added export to Japan from the overall and industry level, reflecting China’s real interests in Sino-Japanese trade. Finally, based on the theory of comparative advantage and factor endowment theory, establish panel model for 33 industries between 1995-2011,this paper research on the influencing factors of China’s value-added export to Japan. The results show that:(1)Labor force and physical capital of the factor-intensive help improve China’s value-added export to Japan, and the former has more significant impact on value-added export.Likewise, the adequacy of the two factors of production have positive effect on the growth of the value-added export.(2)From the regression results of the factor ratio model,in the case of constant factor density, the adequacy of the two factors of production plays an active role in the increase of the value-added export. At the same time, factor ratio coefficient of the high-skilled labor force is greater than the material capital, which indicates that the factor ratio of high-skilled labor force contributes more to value-added export.(3)From the sub-sectors,relative to the manufacturing sector, the proportion of factors and relative productivity have greater impact on the value-added export of services.(4)The narrowing of the productivity gap between the two countries is conducive to the increase of China’s value-added export to Japan, indicating that technological progress is of great help to the growth of value-added export.(5)After China’s accession to the World Trade Organization,China’s value-added export to Japan have increased rapidly.
