Study On The Foreign Trade Competitiveness Of Wanjiang City Belt

The area of Wanjiang City belt is 76,000 square kilometers,which is 54 percent of Anhui Province;the population is 30.96 million,which is 46 percent of Anhui Province;the GDP is 16237.4 billion Yuan in 2015,which is 67 percent of Anhui Province.The area of Wanjiang City belt is the fulcrum of the implementation of the strategy for promoting the rise of the central region,which has an important strategic position in the Midwest industrial transfer.In May 2015,"opinions on the State Council accelerating the cultivation of new foreign trade competitive advantage" requested:vigorously promoting foreign trade restructuring and boosting the international competitiveness of foreign trade.With the arrival of the mobile Internet,our economy gradually turned into the new normal,and States proposed "the Belt and Road" strategy,and the development of foreign trade in Wanjiang City belt faces unprecedented opportunities and challenges.Through collecting relevant literature,grasping of the relative situation,dynamics and trends,we defined connotation and characteristics of competitiveness of foreign trade in Wanjiang city belt,analyzed the situation and characteristics of competitiveness of foreign trade in Wanjiang city belt namely:foreign trade grow steadily,growth is slow,foreign trade structure improve greatly,the mode of foreign trade is relatively simple,foreign trade partners is multiple and fragmented.Then,we identified the problems of competitiveness of foreign trade in Wanjiang city belt,namely:low degree of dependence on foreign trade,foreign direct investment is not deep,mode and structure of foreign trade are imbalances,lack of export commodities technical content,and so on.The paper integrated traditional compared advantage theory,elements Endowment theory,national competition advantage theory,products life cycle theory and intra-industry trade theory,we conducted qualitative analysis on the economic development level in Wanjiang city belt,summed up six influencing factors which influenced foreign trade competitiveness,respectively for labor input,capital input,science and technology progress level,industrial structure,foreign directly investment and related supporting industry development level.Then,based on Wanjiang area statistics from 2000 to 2015,we constructed multiple linear regression models,analyzed the quantitative relationship between foreign trade competitiveness and factors.Results showed that advances in technology,foreign direct investment,related supporting industries and the transformation and industrial structure promote the competitiveness of foreign trade in Wanjiang areas,and labor input and capital inputs are different from assuming,fail to play a facilitating role.Finally,from personnel training,utilization of foreign investment and optimization of the industrial structure,we put forward specific suggestions,as following:first,we should improve the quality of workers and reduce the relative cost of labour;second,we should optimize investment policy,raise the utilization level of foreign capital;third,we should promote the optimization of industrial structure and develop strategic emerging industries;Finally,optimize the investment environment,promote balanced regional development.This paper has the following three innovation points:first,the research perspective of innovation.At present,the academia research literature for Wanjiang areas is relatively small,existing research focuses on undertaking industrial transfer,industrial upgrading,and other research.This paper will research the competitiveness of foreign trade in Wanjiang city belt,research view is new.Second,.the innovation of research methods,using qualitative and quantitative methods,we explored influencing factors and the degree of competitiveness of foreign trade.Because of the selected indicators may be insufficient,further research is needed in the ffuture.Thirdly,the innovation of the study conclusions.Advances in technology,foreign direct investment,related industries and the competitiveness of the industrial structure,promoting Wanjiang areas foreign trade and labor input and capital inputs rather than assuming the expected,failed to play a facilitating role.
