Fusion of infrared and visible images can extract image features of different bands,improve spatial range and detection probability of target effectively,and enhance ability of image cognition and comprehension.Therefore,the technology has been widely concerned in military and civilian fields.This paper studied the principle of infrared and visible light imaging,image fusion algorithm and fusion system design based on the research of infrared and visible light image fusion system.This paper proposed a hybrid domain algorithm in the aspect of image preprocessing,which satisfies the observation requirements of moving targets,improves the effect of noise reduction and enhances the target's edge-details.In algorithm of image fusion,considering the characteristics of human visual observation,this paper proposed a multi-scale fusion algorithm based on human visual saliency.This method uses different fusion algorithms to fuse the high-frequency and low-frequency images that be decomposed by Pyramid-method,and then reconstructs them by inverse transform.The core of the algorithm is the use of human visual characteristics,highlighting the remarkable parts of source image.The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is proved by comparing with several fusion algorithms.This paper designed a real-time image fusion system of infrared and visible light based on the functional requirements of the fusion system,complete the chip selection and fabrication of fusion circuit schematic.This paper made detailed introductions of the main function modules of the system circuit,including analog video decoder chip circuit,analog/digital video encoding module,memory module,FPGA peripheral configuration module and power supply module.Then designs the layout and routing of PCB based on the schematic diagram.The software module division of image fusion system also be designed,which is divided into video coding module,video decoding module,data storage module and image processing module.Finally,the experimental results of image fusion system are completed,and the fusion effect is verified.
