According to the resource requirements of the infrared and visible light video fusion system,this article designs a fusion system solution based on FPGA and completes the hardware design of the infrared and visible light video fusion system.It mainly includes multiple video acquisition circuit modules,serial debugging circuit modules,and video storage modules,Video output module,power module,and peripheral configuration parts required for the normal operation of the FPGA.Designed the circuit diagram of the fusion system,completed the PCB drawing,welding and debugging,and completed the construction of the hardware platform of the fusion system.For the image fusion algorithm,this paper combined with the actual requirements of hardware platform implementation,using Laplacian pyramid fusion algorithm as a prototype,and proposed an improved fusion algorithm.In terms of image decomposition,this article uses the non-downsampling mode to complete the tower decomposition based on the FPGA's processing of video images.In terms of low-frequency fusion rules,this article uses the method of gray-level equal interval segmentation to calculate the fusion coefficient,and calculate the maximum gray value of infrared low-frequency images.Based on this maximum,the gray-level equal-level segmentation is performed downward.Intervals are used to determine different fusion coefficients,and the weights of areas with higher energy in the infrared image are increased in an asymmetric manner,replacing the commonly used fusion rules such as the grayscale absolute value method and the weighted average method.In terms of high-frequency fusion rules,according to the actual situation,this paper adopts a window-variance-based fusion rule to calculate the gray value variance of a pixel window area of a high-frequency image and select the high-frequency fusion coefficient according to the magnitude of the variance.The software simulation is used to compare multiple fusion algorithms to verify the feasibility of the proposed algorithm.Finally,the functional design of the software module of the fusion system is carried out in this paper,including video encoding / decoding module,video synchronization processing module,data storage module and image processing module.Several groups of experiments were carried out to experimentally analyze the fusion results of the system.
