Along with the development of precision guidance weapons, information processing technology of precision guidance has become one of the important restricted factors for weapons. For many advantages, infrared imaging guidance has been known as the mainstream of researching and development of precision guidance in the world.In this paper, the infrared image processing hardware system is outlined. The requirements of the system for image pretreatment and the work that the pretreatment part must to be done are introduced. The image pretreatment algorithms are researched such as image enhancement and image segmentation algorithms. After abundant experiments based on the characters of infrared image, the median filtering algorithm was selected to remove system noises with its easy use in hardware. Aiming at the problem that the object and background cannot be distincted efficiently, we presented an improved Otsu algorithm based on the gray level and gradient mapping function and a new image segmentation algorithm based on fuzzy relative entropy. The experiment results show that the improved algorithms have their advantages.The modules of median filtering, linear gray level transformation and image segmentation were realized based on FPGA. Serial communication, memory interfaces and bootloader program of FLASH ROM were also completed based on DSP. The debugging results show that the system completes infrared image processing effectively and achieves the desired goals. In the end, the direction of further research work is also introduced. |
