Image fusion technology is combination of different features of image data, can fully reflect the observation target's characteristics, and provide more reliable image information. Image fusion technology has great application space in the military, aviation, medicine and other fields. In this paper, we used Altera SoC FPGA to design the hardware circuit of information fusion processing system. Different object or the same objects of different state will produce different polarization state and formate polarization spectrum. Through image fusion technology combine the polarization image and the light intensity image will show more rich information of the target. Spectrum and polarization information fusion technology has a lot of application space in the field of stealth target detection marine pollution detection and so on. Based on Altera corporation's SOC FPGA as the core digital processor, we designed spectrum and polarization information fusion processing system hardware circuit.In this paper, we first introduce the research background and the present situation. Then, we introduce the basic fusion theory of the spectrum and polarization information. The main content is divided into three parts. In the first part, we design the hardware circuit of the fusion processing system of spectrum and polarization information. The whole fusion system is designed by the three circuit boards, which are FPGA board, power board and temperature control board. FPGA board has FPGA, DDR3 memory, UART, SD card and other peripherals. Power supply board has power chip and two A/D conversion module. The temperature control board has temperature control module for controlling the temperature of focal plane array. In the second part, we design the software of the fusion processing system of spectrum and polarization information. The fusion system model is designed in the Qsys interface of Quartus. We make the IP core of each module, and connect each other according to the logical relationship. After the establishment of the model, we complete the design and operation of the software part of the Quartus, Shelll, EDS, serial terminal window. In the third part, we debug the fusion processing system of the spectrum and polarization information. The part of the hardware, debugged the power module, D/A conversion module, A/D conversion module etc. The part of the software, debugged the SRAM storage, DDR3 storage, LED lights. Finally, we complete the spectrum and polarization information experiment. From the experimental results, we can see that the fusion effect of visible light and infrared can meet the design requirements.
