As one major development direction of the next-generation infrared polarization detection system, real-time infrared polarization fusion accepts broad attention and development in many countries. In this thesis, a series of key technologies in fusion between infrared polarization image and infrared radiation intensity image have been researched. The keypoint of the study is to research a series of key technologies in infrared polarization fusion through building a real-time infrared polarization fusion simulation system. The research will lay the foundation for building a real-time infrared polarization fusion system 、 observation of polarization characteristics of dynamic targets and application of real-time infrared polarization fusion technique in the target detection and recognition. The research includes the following topics:1 Based on the analysis of the various real-time infrared polarization imaging system, the paper proposed a design scheme of real-time infrared polarization fusion imaging system based on micro polarization detector. But due to the lack of micropolarizer detector, the paper proposed a design scheme of simulation system and built a simulation system.2 This paper proposed a micro polarized image simulation system design, designed a micro polarized image output format, and developed a micro polarized image emulation board. The micro polarized image emulation board exports micro polarized emulation image through the optical fiber at a rate of 60 frames per second.3 This paper designed a real-time polarization information fusion system, developed a real-time polarization fusion processing board, and realized image pre processing and fusion processing based on micro polarized emulation image:(1) Aiming at the question that the edge of the object is so strong that the object itself has been weakened, designing some preprocessing algorithms in view of micro polarized image and implementing these algorithms in FPGA. These algorithms include the way to improve the spatial resolution, the way to calculate the infrared polarization image and infrared radiation intensity image, and the way to uniform dimension. The method of FPGA implementation greatly reduced the burden of DSP, and saved a lot of time.(2) Based on the Laplacian Pyramid, oriented Laplacian pyramid and Wavelet transform, developing three kinds of fusion algorithms in view of the infrared radiation intensity and polarization degree image, and making a qualitative and quantitative analysis on the three kinds of fusion algorithms. In addition, we made real time analysis on these algorithms based on polarization fusion processing board. At last, based on the consideration of real time factor, a simplified algorithm has been developped and implemented in DSP.4 Designing an infrared polarization fusion image display system and developing an infrared polarization fusion image display board.
