In the early 1980 s, the first cell phone was born. Since then, cell phones have been developing for more than 30 years. In the past 30 years, from cellular phones to smart phones, the cell phone's appearance and function have changed significantly. On the strength of its portability, versatility and popularity, the cell phone has been a dark horse and become the fifth media, following the newspaper, radio, television and the Internet. With people's daily life in the 1990 s, German media educator Dieter baacke had the following description: “People's world is the media's world.” If we changed his description slightly, we could get a vivid portrayal of today's media life. The world is the cell phone's world.With the development of mobile communication technology and mobile network technology, the cell phone has a lot of advantages in information dissemination and interpersonal communication, and it becomes the main media in people's daily life. Young people are strong supporters of cell phones. The communication device that the young people like best is the smart phone which is thinner, lighter and multimedia. Cell phones have become the most popular media with the young people. The group of college students live in the semi-closed environment. The massive media which they can contact is relatively simple, so the cell phone has high popularization rate in the group of college students. What's more, cell phones have great influence on the college students' growth. The cell phone has both positive and progressive sides. In terms of the positive side, cell phones can broaden students' social channels, facilitate the access to information and accelerate the growth of the college students' socialization. At the same time, cell phones also produce negative effects. In recent years, the media has published a lot of news about college students' over-reliance on cell phones and cell phone games. To a certain extent, it reflects that the cell phone usage among college students exists some problems. Some of them have become over-involved with their mobile phones.College students who have the creativity, the vitality and the technical knowledge are national high-quality professionals. They will strongly promote the progress of our society and country. As an important role in the development of college students, cell phones have become the most important medium in their growth. Therefore, researching the cell phone's influence on the college students makes sense. This paper studies the influence that the cell phone makes oncollege students. According to this purpose, this paper selects the Shandong Normal University as a case, through the method of questionnaire survey, to know about college students' behavior in using cell phones. By analyzing the data, we can find the problems and propose the settlement strategy. Then we can help college students to use the cell phone correctly and enhance the students' media literacy.This paper is subdivided into five parts. In the introduction, the topic's background and significance, the definition and subjects, the literature review and the innovation and difficulty are introduced. The first chapter of this paper analyzes the results of the questionnaire and the college students' behavior in using cell phones. At the same time, this part also analyzes the influence made by cell phones on the college students. Based on the first chapter, the second chapter analyzes the survey findings and summarizes this survey with the theory knowledge of Communication and Psychology. The third chapter of the thesis tries to find the solution to the problems and play the function of society, school, parent and students themselves.The mobile terminals, such as cell phones, have become the most important medium in our society. Contemporary college students have been the main force in using cell phones. However, the cell phone has both positive and progressive sides. Therefore, researching the influence of cell phones on college students is full of meaning. Only by addressing this issue, college students can use the cell phone correctly. And meanwhile, the cell phone will play a positive role in our daily life.
