Withthe development of wireless networks technology, the humanized and intellectualized design,as well as the popularization of an enormous amount of apps, mobile phone itself has beenplaying such an ordinary role in people’s daily life. Mobile phone, however, as both thetransmitter and the receiver of messages, is altering the traditional linear way ofcommunication and gradually transforming people’s thoughts, ideas, production and living.As for college students, who are on the very edge of new technology and innovativeideas, and at a critical stage which, the formation of the abilities of social observance andvalue judgment would be made, have become the major user group of mobile phones media.They are skillful at using them, and interact actively and deeply with them, resulting in highrates of penetration and usage of mobile phones,. And this kind of situation leads toprofound and significant impact on college students, the whole nation and the society, sincethey represent the future and the hope. Therefore, it is of great significance to conduct adeep-going and systematical research on the impact of mobile phone media on collegestudents and the countermeasures.The article revised definition, concept, evolution in performance, features in times, andthe trend of development of mobile phone media in domestic and foreign publication. Wedescribed the situation of college students using mobile phone media from three aspects:basic situation, function and dependency via observation, interview and questionnaire.Through the analysis of survey data and observation, interview results, we discussed thepositive and negative impact on college student’s learning, life and ideas. when using mobilephone media. At last, we discussed how to guide college students to use mobile phone mediaproperly from university, society, government and individual. It provided theoretical andpratical approaches to develop the positive influnce and to eliminate the negative effectsefficiently.
