As one of the four geographic core elements,geographic practice competence has a significant role in geographical teaching. So far, research on geographic practice competence is increasing,it is mostly a study of the intension and the training strategy on geographic practice competence. But there is little debate about the evaluation of geographic practice competence. Carrying out research on the evaluation of geographic practice competence is conducive to ensuring and implementing the development of students' geographic practice competence, fostering the necessary quality and key skills for students to develop, promoting the upbringing of the students' geographic practice competence. Now, in the status of the lack of evaluation on high school students' geographic practice competence,this article aims to research on the evaluation of the students' geographic practice competence.Developing a geography-based practical evaluation scheme for high school students can be used in practical practices and the developing of geographic practice competence will falls in to reality.This article is based on a large amount of literature. The theoretical basis of geographic practice competence has been combed. Embodiment cognition, hierarchy of need theory ,the situated learning cognition and the SOLO cognition laid out a good theoretical basis for this article. This article has a theoretical study of geographic practice competence and a detailed interpretation of geographic practice competence's intension and extension. This article has a certain meaning of theory. Through analyzing a series of literature about geographic practice competence. interviewing high school geography teachers, and observing of the geography classes, this article analyzed the problems about the evaluation of geographic practice competence.Combining new geographic curriculum standards, this article devised a scheme on the evaluation of geographic practice competence. The scheme aims at new geographic curriculum standards. The basic purpose of the scheme is to promote the students'geographic practice competence.This article uses the evaluation to encourage students and as a variety of diverse assessments. This scheme follows some principles, such as the process, the subject, the level, the directionality, the operation, holistic. This scheme uses qualitative and quantitative methods, and divides geographic practice competence into five levels and evaluate each level of hierarchy.The scheme is used to evaluate high school geographic practice competence, trying to promote the development of high school geographic practice competence by reasonable assessment programmes. The program has developed functions, adjustment functions and recording functions for high school students, so this article has a certain sense of reality.
