Teachers are the primary resource the development of education.The overall weakening of teacher education is an urgent problem to be solved in the cultivation of high-quality teachers in China.The introduction of Relevant policies such as the action plan for the revitalization of teacher education(2018-2020)and opinions on comprehensively deepening the construction and reform of the teaching force in the new era has pointed out the direction for the improvement of teachers' professional ability.The deepening of high school geography curriculum reform,the comprehensive implementation ensive impiementation of The Ordinary High School Geography Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition)and the effective cultivation of students' core geographic literacy have brought growing requirement for the quality of geography teachers.Therefore,based on high school geography teachers' professional core ability,this paper has important theoretical and practical significance,for which not only helps clarify the direction of the geography teachers'professional development and enrich theoretical system of geography teachers' professional development,but also further improves the geography teachers' professional core ability,and provides theoretical and decision basis for the reform of high school geography curriculum.Based on the geography curriculum and teaching theory,core competence theory and the theory of teacher professional development,this paper analyzes the professional core ability of geography teachers and existing problems under the background of new curriculum criteria,using questionnaire and interview method.What's more,according to the requirement of the teacher's quality,it discusses the strategy to strengthen the professional ability of high school geography teacher,combining the teaching practice.Firstly,relevant concepts are defined by referring to the existing research results at home and abroad.Combined with The Ordinary High School Geography(Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition)and The Middle School Teachers' Professional S tandards,it analyzes the theory of the professional core ability of high school geography teachers and builds its structure;then it is divided into four elements,that is,the design ability,the teaching ability,the evaluation and proposition ability,and the reflection and development ability.Secondly,adopting the method of questionnaire and interview,it analyzes a the present situation of high school geography teachers' professional core ability,which shows that the current high school geography teachers does poor in some aspects,such as the design of the teaching process,the development of geography curriculum resources,problem-based geography teaching,geography teaching practice,the application of information technology and geography teaching evaluation,proposition and reflection ability,etc.Finally,aimed at the existing problems,this paper puts forward the core competence improvement system and strategies for high geography teachers.The promotion system is divided into external training and internal improvement.External training means that relevant departments and schools promote the improvement of teachers'core professional competence by organizing professional training and other related platforms.Internal improvement means that teachers independently improve their core professional competence in both theory and practice according to relevant national requirements and personal reality,some Specific promotion strategies are listed,including improving teachers' ability to grasp new curriculum standards and enhance their ability to develop umculum resources,strengthening the ability of designing question-based teaching,which requires to heighten the practice of geography according to the core quality and the application of IT,mastering the evaluation method of cultivating students'core literacy and improving the ability of proposition according to the evaluation of core literacy.as well as strengthening the standardization of self-evaluation and the comprehensiveness of self-reflection,and clear personal professional development planning.Under the background of the new curriculum standard,this paper innovates in the construction of the structure system of high school geography teachers'professional core competence,which is divided into four elements,namely,geography teaching design ability,geography teaching implementation ability,geography teaching evaluation and proposition ability,and reflection and development ability.
