With the change of the College Entrance Examinations,in which Chinese,Mathematics and English are compulsory and other three subjects to be tested are optional,students will lay more emphasis on and allocate more time to the three main subjects(Chinese,Mathematics and English).Meanwhile,qualification examinations differ greatly from grade examinations in learning requirements.As science teachers,who teach a minor subject,we may explore teaching methods actively to tailor different learning needs and development of the subject to various students.Concept map,a good tool for teachers to teach and students to learn,can help students construct systematic and networking knowledge system.Students will be better at seizing the core knowledge,and at the same time,be fostered to enhance their independent learning ability.Therefore,the author tries to introduce and apply concept map to science teaching,designs new science lessons on the basis of concept map and teaching procedures of revision,so that teachers can address the new changes brought about by the new College Entrance Examinations and students can raise their ability of independent learning.The research methods include questionnaire method,literature research method,action research method,method of comparative analysis.Based on literature research,the author has organized the origin,category,composition,function and other aspects of the concept map.He illustrates the theory basis of the concept map that can be applied to teaching,analyzes the connections and differences of it and mind map,defines the relationship between them in this thesis.After conducting a questionnaire survey in practice on students who take grade examinations and qualification examinations in the school,the author finds after the reform of the College Entrance Examination,there are new changes and new problems in science subject.Based on it,the author has designed teaching science procedures of new lessons and revision on the basis of concept map,and designed the teaching case of making experiments.Under the guidelines of subject homogenization,the author teaches experiments by comparison of subject class and its counterpart,coming to the following conclusion after that.1.Concept map teaching has a significant impact on raising the scores of students who take grade examinations,but less remarkable on students who take qualification examinations.2.To some extent,concept map teaching can improve students independent learning habits,but it will not enhance their ability of independent learning in a short term.3.Concept map teaching has been well-received and loved by students,which is suitable for new lessons and revision.But students now have limited time because of the new College Entrance Examinations;it is not suitable to teach new difficult lessons.The thesis analyzes the shortcomings of the research and points out the direction for further research.
