Casework Involves The Study Of Psychological Problems In Parents With Seriously Ill Children

In recent years,aiming at some prominent problems in protecting the needy children the government has issued the policy of security system to protect children in need so as to strengthen the classification security for needy children.The children with seriously ill parents also belong to children in need.Those children are facing a hard situation whose parents are not able to perform the duty as a guardian.Besides they have difficulties in finance and are more likely to suffer from all sorts of psychological diseases.Social case work is one of the three methods of social work.And its most typical characteristic is the one-to-one.Those children with ill parents have particularity because the psychological problems in each child are diverse,and the same as the causes.While social case work in the area of professional social work could provide one-to-one service according to target's different psychological problems and actual situation.Through this professional method to interfere it is much easier to achieve the goals of helping target to overcome their psychological problems.Through the mental health tests(MHT)and interview with children,the author with assistance of the doctors and teachers found that there are diverse mental diseases shown in the aspects of terror loneliness anxiety and impulsiveness existing in children with badly ill parents.In accord with the basic principles of social work intervention and the procedures of social work as intake prediction plan,intervention evaluation and closure,the author chose two representative cases to make one-to-one intervention by rational emotive therapy behavior therapy and combination of games and interviews towards target's mental problems.And the practical skills mainly used are sympathy self-disclosure clarification education silence demonstration etc.The practice of intervention to the target verified its effectiveness and basically fulfilled the goals to serve,and even help to overcome the target's psychological problems.It not only provided a reference for solving children's psychological problems but also supported the intervention theory with empirical research.
