Autism,a neurodevelopmental disorder that occurs in early childhood,has an unclear etiology and is characterized by social difficulties,narrow interests and repetitive and stereotypical behaviors,which seriously affect children’s social functioning and quality of life.As there is no effective cure for autism,parents can only rely on long-term care.Parents of autistic children often bear both physical and psychological pressure,and have serious negative emotions.Long-term negative emotions are not conducive to the care and rehabilitation of autistic children.It is imperative to understand the pressure of parents of autistic children,clarify the source of the pressure,analyze the difficulties they face,and help parents of autistic children better integrate into society.The survey found that parents in H social work service center generally bear a certain amount of economic pressure,social pressure,caring pressure,family relationship tension,resulting in great psychological pressure,which is specifically manifested as sleep disorders,anxiety,depression,loss of appetite,etc.In order to explore the problems and needs of autistic families and assess the psychological pressure of parents in a more targeted way,this study selected Ms.Liu as the service object.After measurement,it was found that her psychological pressure was relatively serious.Through observation and interview,it was known that the patient had economic difficulties,prominent negative emotions,caring pressure,social pressure and family tension.On the basis of previous research,this study took advantage perspective and social support theory as the basis,and carried out services from the aspects of understanding one’s own advantages,assisting in applying for subsidies,repairing family relations,linking rehabilitation resources,and integrating into mutual aid organizations,so as to explore the effectiveness of casework methods in relieving the psychological pressure of parents of autistic children.The results of the study showed that the casework service was effective in relieving the psychological stress of autistic children’s parents,as evidenced by the reduce of anxiety,improvement in sleep quality,and increased motivation of social integration among the clients,and that they were satisfied with the program design and process arrangement of this casework service.Finally,the researcher reflects and discusses this case service,and find that more social workers are needed to pay attention to the problems and needs of autistic families in order to enrich the research of social work in autistic family problems. |
