A class is the basic unit of a school.Classroom management is an important part of the school management.Whether a class can be managed well or badly concerns the achievement of the education of school and teaching aims.That also concerns the individual development.As time goes by,people pay more and more attention to education.Parents of students expect to get more from education and so it is with the teachers.This requires students spend more time focus on their schoolwork.While the colorful outside world attracts students to explore,so the classroom management in the period of middle school which is filled with the features of the modern society and fixes with the students’psychological and physical development becomes especially complicated and difficult.Therefore,it’s important to find out the present situation of the classroom management in the period of middle school,analyze the reasons,solve the problems and seek the rules of solving these problems.This study basis on the reality of middle school classroom management and it does systematical research to some related issues,by questionnaire investigation and class teacher interviewing.333 students from three middle schools in Dalian Development Area filled in the questionnaire and 18 class teachers from these three middle schools accepted the interview.The investigation results show that the democratization degree in middle school classroom management is not enough;class teachers don’t pay enough attention to cultivating students’ self-restraint ability;the effect of subject teachers was found not to be significant in classroom management;the class culture is not superficial;class teachers manage and control too much about the problem behavior of their students,but their parents are not actively involved;for students’ psychological problems,class teachers don’t take scientific and diversified measures.After analyzing the reasons of the form of these problems,this study can provide practical strategies which are effective to the above problems.These include promoting the self accomplishment and accepting new ideas in education of class teachers;enhance the democratization degree in middle school classroom management;cultivate students’ self-restraint ability;playing the active role of subject teachers;using different methods to communicate with different students’ parents and devote much attention to students’ mental health.
