Self-directed learning tendency is an important field in lifelong education,lifelong learning and learning society.It is the learning preferences of learners with the help of resources and their willingness to learn,in the process of developing their own learning goals and plans,choosing learning methods,learning and training.The senior high school students are lack of independent thinking,summary reflection and active absorption.In order to solve these problems,we made research on the development of senior high school students’ self-directed learning tendency.We selected several senior high school students in Zhanjiang area of Guangdong province as the research object in this study.There were 480 high school students had been tested by using Wang shui,Chen feng and Fu Xiaolan’s “middle school students self-directed learning scale” which were made by 2007.The purpose of the study is as follows:First,it is to investigate the whole and factors of self-directed learning tendency of senior high school students.Secondly,studying on the grade difference and gender difference of self-directed learning tendency of senior high school students.Thirdly,it is to investigate the developing trend of self-directed learning tendency of senior high school students with different grades and genders.The research shows:1.High school students’ self-directed learning tendency is above the medium level,and the order of the five positive factors are open learning,lifelong learning,active learning,like learning and effective learning.2.There are significant gender differences in the tendency of self-directed learning in senior high school students.3.The senior high school students have significant grade differences in the tendency of self-directed learning,and the scores of grade three are obviously higher than that of grade two and grade one.4.The tendency of self-directed learning of male students in grade one and grade two is very slow.But it will be rising continually and soon from the beginning of grade two.The score of female students’ self-directed learning tendency gradually declined from the beginning of grade one.It would be the lowest in grade three.It would be quite different from the male students and it would be the opposite trend.Both of them would show significant differences in grade three.According to shortcomings we find above.We learn on relevant research results.This research attempts to start from the three aspects of cultivating and stimulating the learning motivation of senior high school students,paying attention to the actual situation of the students in different grades,developing the intervention strategy,adjusting the class management mode and changing the students’ academic attitude.So that we can promote the development of self directed learning ability of senior high school students,and to improve their academic level.
